The Boot World — Terms of Use (Pilot Version)
Last Updated: November 2025
- Introduction
Welcome to The Boot World (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
The Boot World is currently operating as a pilot project that connects individuals who need help (“Listers”) with people seeking flexible, local income opportunities (“Seekers”).
By submitting information or participating in this pilot, you agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree, please do not participate in the pilot or share your information.
- Nature of the Pilot
The Boot World pilot is a community-based matching initiative, not a full public platform or employer.
All matches are made manually for testing purposes to evaluate feasibility, trust systems, and community response.
- The Boot World does not employ, contract, or represent any users.
- All arrangements between Listers and Seekers are made independently and at their own discretion.
- Participation is voluntary and may be discontinued by either party or The Boot World at any time
- Eligibility
To participate in the pilot, you must:
- Be 18 years or older.
- Provide accurate and truthful information.
- Be legally capable of entering into local service arrangements.
- Reside within the active pilot area (currently Greater Montréal).
We reserve the right to deny or revoke participation for any reason, including breach of these terms, inappropriate behavior, or low reliability ratings.
- User Responsibilities
For Listers (those requesting help):
- Provide clear, honest descriptions of tasks, timing, and compensation.
- Ensure the work environment is safe and respectful.
- Communicate promptly with your matched Seeker.
For Seekers (those offering help):
- Show up on time and complete tasks as agreed.
- Treat all users with respect and professionalism.
- Notify The Boot World immediately if any issues arise.
All users agree not to misuse The Boot World system or participate in activities that are unsafe, discriminatory, or unlawful.
- Payments and Fees
During the pilot, payment occurs directly between Listers and Seekers, typically by cash or e-transfer.
The Boot World does not process or hold user funds.
Seekers may pay a match fee (e.g., $4.99) to confirm their pairing and receive contact details.
This fee supports platform development and user verification during the pilot.
- Disclaimers
- The Boot World is not an employer, agent, or broker for either party.
- We do not guarantee the performance, reliability, or conduct of any participant.
- The Boot World is not responsible for personal injury, property damage, or loss resulting from user interactions.
- Users participate at their own risk and are encouraged to use good judgment and personal safety practices.
- Ratings, Reviews, and Conduct
After each completed task, participants may be invited to leave a rating or review.
By submitting a review, you consent to its use for trust-building within The Boot World community.
We reserve the right to remove or edit reviews that are false, offensive, or violate these Terms.
Users must treat each other with dignity, fairness, and respect — harassment or discrimination of any kind will result in immediate removal from the pilot.
- Data and Privacy
All personal data collected during the pilot is governed by our Privacy Policy (link to your Privacy page).
By participating, you consent to the collection, use, and limited sharing of your data as outlined in that policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Boot World, its founder, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the pilot, including but not limited to:
- Miscommunication between users.
- Property damage or personal injury.
- Financial loss or dissatisfaction with a match.
Our total liability under any claim will not exceed the amount of the match fee (if paid).
- Termination
The Boot World reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user’s participation at any time for:
- Repeated no-shows or unprofessional behavior.
- Violations of these Terms.
- Misuse or misrepresentation of the pilot.
Users may also withdraw voluntarily at any time by contacting support@thebootworld.com
- Intellectual Property
All branding, text, graphics, and design elements of The Boot World are the property of The Boot World Inc. and may not be used without written permission.
- Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically as the pilot evolves into a public platform.
Updated terms will be posted on our website, and continued participation constitutes acceptance of the revised version.
